I bought this for my son to try after reading some of the reviews. One of the reviews I read said it smelled like a high end cologne. I was not really sure what to expect with this deodorant. I did smell it when it came in and it does have a cologne smell but not high end and not strong enough to take the place of wearing cologne. The deodorant is orange and looks like glycerin soap does and when you put it on it feels like it a wet gel and needs to dry. It does need to be put on everyday unlike others that last 48-72 hours.

Saved my son’s social life
Okay, moms of teenage boys, you know the struggle. The… aroma… that emanates from their rooms? Let’s just say it’s a challenge. This Axe Black Vanilla with Orange Sandalwood? My secret weapon. It’s not overpowering, but it’s strong enough to actually make a difference. The scent is surprisingly sophisticated – a little bit sweet, a little bit spicy, a little bit… grown-up. It’s a far cry from the usual teenage boy scents, which is a huge plus. Five stars. My nose (and my son’s social life) thanks you.

Very fragrant. Would buy again at this price
Have not used Axe brand anything in a long time, I bought this because it had decent Walmart cash back offer. I have been using aluminum-free deodorants for a few years now and this might be my new favorite. The smell really is great and like a fine fragrance. It’s like you are wearing cologne. I had been using the cheap arm and hammer aluminum-free’s and they work but their fragrance can’t compare to this.

Strong, off-putting scent
Though I didn’t use this personally, the overwhelming scent smells (to me) like body sweat with an ugly citrus twinge. It has a damp, gel-like texture that goes on smoothly, but stays damp and a little sticky for several minutes. If you like this scent and use other, similarly scented products, it works well as an antiperspirant for someone with average moisture. Otherwise, it is so strong, it competes w/ other colognes/ aftershaves, and repels the desire to snuggle.

I’m a Walmart associate. My husband bought this ax deodorant since it’s a scent that he has never had before, but he doesn’t care for the fragrance it gives off.

Smells Good But…
Excellent smell,TomFord like, but protection doesn’t match. Strong scent will compete against any dissimilar cologne /perfume. Limited underarm protection strength for me.

Scent profile has changed after being open for 2wk
Upon first opening the scent was pretty decent. Over the next couple weeks it has steadily degraded into losing the pleasant sweeter notes of the scent and heading into unpleasant territory. I’m unsure if it’s the humidity in my bathroom or what due to only ever using it immediately after exiting a shower. It’s had a definitive scent profile change over the past couple weeks from first opening to present. I’ve never experienced this with previous deodorants from other brands or even Axe Phoenix scent.

DISGUSTING
If I could give it 0 stars, I would…. it smells so strongly it wanted to make me puke. Also, it says aluminum free, but I broke out into the WORST hives. I can’t use aluminum deodorant because of this reason. So there was some kind of aluminum in it to make me break out like that.

My husband didn’t like it, money wasted.
My husband has been using Right Guard Gel deodorant and he tried this one but he stopped just in 4 days and went back to Right Guard Gel.
It smells different but not like a deodorant. It feels sticky even after drying and it leaves marks on the clothes.
