With identity theft on the rise, I want to ensure I was properly shredding mail that I don’t want or no longer need and this shredder does the job with its cross cutting rather than how most shredders cut in strips which we now know can be taped back together if a person is determined enough. Would also make an unconventional but great housewarming gift for a new homeowner because they will be receiving A LOT of service advertisement flyers and junk mail after closing on their home.

Likes: Great value/price. Handle for easy lifting of shredder to empty bin. The bin has a small window so can see if almost full or full. Light for when on. Says it has an automatic feature if overheats. We used it to shred a full grocery bag of papers and it did not over heat. For us not to big or small but note it is on the smaller/compact size.
Dislikes: noise when shredding but I have yet to meet a quiet shredder, especially in my price range.

I Love it. It is compact and came in handy. The price was great for me wing that I am on a tight budget, but it’s always great to have to get rid of confidential information. Excellent product.

Great paper shredder for the price for a home. I used the plastic bag it came in to line the inside of the shredder to make it easier to empty. Works really well.

đź’˛This was an affordable shredder option. It is easy to use, but be sure to READ all the warnings and instructions.
The top part is very heavy compared to the bottom bin.
The bottom bin is just the empty container that catches the paper as you shred it. It has a little plastic window in the front so you can see how full the container is without having to lift the top and look inside.
🔌The top part is what plugs in and has the blades where you insert the sheets of paper to shred.
🟢🔴The top part has the on/off switch and a little light that goes on when the machine is ready to use. It will be green when it is ready.
I was able to shred for about 20-30 minutes before the red light came on, which indicates that you need to let the machine cool down before you can continue.
⚠️The top part also has little emojis on it to warn you of things that you should not do.
When the bin gets full, you should unplug the top and remove it to dump the shreds into a larger trash can or trash bag.

It works well enough for light shredding. The bits it creates are very small. I used it consistently over 3 days shredding old bills and papers and it never shut off to cool down, I didn’t smell any weird smells, it worked well. I don’t suggest using it every day like that but it survived and I think it’s good enough for home use. Didn’t have trouble with staples on paper either but didn’t do a credit card yet.

Pen Gear Shredder – Item Received Not the same
FYI, The shredder I received is not the same model as the one listed on Walmart.com.
Walmart shows model C287-A, but I received model WM682XA. When I called to inquire, they told me it was the same thing, but the images online show a different looking unit, and it says “4 Minutes continuous run time” but the one I received says “3 Minutes continuous run time”. Besides that, it works as it is intended.

Not as good as described.
This states it can shred 6 sheets at a time. I was only shredding one at a time and it clogged and took forever to get it working again and it overheated and it was the first time I used it.
Max –
This shredder cuts paper when it works but it stops working often when shredding only 2 to 4 sheets at a time.
Shredder is rated for up to 6 sheets so processing 2 at a time should not be a problem.
