These are very smooth compared to normal crayons, although it can get a little messy on your hands while usong them. I recommend leaving your paper out to fully ‘dry’ or using a paper on top of it to preserve the art once done as it does transfer a bit to other pages until its really aired out and solidified.
I personally really like the texture of finished art, and this feels nice. since it’s a gel crayon, it doesn’t leave a waxy residue you’d feel when drawing with regular ones. This is neither positive nor negative as it’s just simply a completely different texture.
They feel like they’ll run out quickly if you use them for a large piece or frequently, but for occasional art of this media, they work great.
Also, since its not wax based, they don’t make that ear screeching sound normal crayons make.

Pretty but Messy
The colors are bold and blend nicely…. But…. They flake and the pieces that come off leave color smears on whatever they get onto, including clothes or upholstery. It does wash off pretty easily though. I’d say good for older kids or grown ups, but be careful with little ones.
