Petrolatum gauze is a lightweight cotton bandage which is for dressing of various types of wounds. They are made of fine, soft, gauze with white petrolatum or a semisolid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petrolatum. Removal of these bandages from wounds can cause minimal trauma to the wound. Petrolatum gauze is widely used in skin graft. A skin graft is one type of wound in which a piece of healthy skin replaces diseased tissue. It is mostly used over a badly injured area, severe burns and chronic infections. Petrolatum gauze is used to cover the skin graft to keep it moist and to increase attachment.This dressing will protect the open area from bacteria. It will not stick to the healthy tissue surrounding the wound. Skin graft adheres to the cells surrounding the wound to promote faster healing. Petrolatum gauze can also serve as an improvised chest seal, as it will occlude air-flow and stay in place unless physically disturbed.

Worked perfectly just as the ones I was given in the ER but unfortunately did not have enough to last me so I ordered these. Second degree burns on the bottom of my feet due to severe blisters that took a good amount of skin layer off. These felt great though was able to wrap the wounds with gauze after placing a layer of Xeroform and slept comfortably

Good product, but misleading quantity
Well, the product is good quality. However, I did not realize it was only going to be one dressing. As in it is literally one square of dressing. I thought it would be a package of multiple packets of dressings. I.e. one box. however when it says quantity one, it is literally one square. This was not made clear at time of purchase.

I like the Xeroform product, but when I ordered, I thought I was ordering a 25 patch pack. 2 patches were delivered costing more than $8. I was given refund.

Description was incorrect. It shows a box of them for eight dollars and I ordered a box of xeroforms. And only one piece of it came. Very misleading.
