Shrinkflation at its finest
We’ve lost another one!! Old Spice has hopped on the shrinkflation bandwagon. I’m ashamed to have vouched for them in an older review. I feel betrayed! This stick came with a giant sticker ..”NEW XL size!!” which one might believe to mean, more product. You see that sort of thing all the time…”25% more!” Unfortunately, they’ve taken advantage of that thought process. They’re extremely careful to say “NEW XL size!!” without saying __% more product. Luckily, we still had the “old/small” sized one. It is actually a bit smaller than the previous version. Same amount of product/.oz..just a fraction of a size different. They’ll get us used to this “NEW XL size!!” and then pull a fast one — take away product. That way, were paying more for less (AKA…shrinkflation…shrinkflation at it’s finest!). They’re currently 3.3 oz (and tbh, I remember them being 4oz not that long ago). Anyhow, once we’re used to this “NEW XL size!!”, they’ll take away the 0.3 of the product to bring it down to 3.0 oz (while also claiming it’s a new size or better scent or something). I gave Old Spice props on this very product just a few months ago for keeping a nice, lower cost antiperspirant/deodorant. That kudos was short-lived. It’s amazing what these companies go through just to take away from their customers. We’re all just a big bunch of dummies. Straight up clowns! And..there’s nothing we can do about it. We’ll continue to be deceived by companies we’ve used for years. I’d rather them be honest with me… Increase the price to justify the amount, if you must. But since they know folks hate paying more for anything, they’d rather lie to our faces with these misleading stickers, etc. We kinda brought it on ourselves, I guess. On top of taking things/product away, they spend crazy amounts of money on advertising to shove in our faces at any given moment. What a sad world. Maybe we could keep that 0.3% of product if they’d cut back on the ridiculous amounts of ads and/or celebrity endorsements. RIP to honesty.
